While trauma is a fact of life, it does not have to be a life sentence. Join Peter Levine, a leader in the field of stress and trauma for over 40 years, and learn how to process the effects of trauma.
In a supportive online setting, explore the possibility that traumas and obstacles hold the potential for emotional and spiritual transformation. Find the courage to give up the “victim identification” and trust in the emergence of a deeper, more authentic sense of self.
Through small groups and one-on-one sessions, you learn to…
· Differentiate between top-down and bottom-up processing
· Discuss the implications of a trauma response as a set of defensive bodily reactions Trauma-based perceptions
· State how shame, defeat, and humiliation are associated with an original traumatic
· Identify methods to manage triggered and reactive trauma.
· Distinguish early character (developmental) structures in relation to trauma.
· Express how to feel a sense of community for safe and fulfilling learning and healing.
· Discuss how to develop the capacity to change patterns of repetitive events that create suffering and confusion in our personal relationships, professional, family, financial, and health-related aspects of our life.
· Utilize the knowledge of Somatic Experiencing® to process trauma and learn how to remain present in the here and now.
· Tell our Stories with a less re-traumatizing approach.
· Define perceptual skills and practical tools to create more presence, rhythm, and connection with others.
· Differentiate various grounding, centering breath and body-posture techniques to aid with soothing and self-regulation.
· Describe how to precisely track autonomic nervous system shifts.
· Discuss how to be more aware of unresolved trauma in the body.
· State how to develop ancestral awareness and resources through exploration of Transgenerational transmission of trauma-based Patterns over time.
· Identify how to better accept life, both in the past and present and appreciate the value of grieving with empathy and support.
· Demonstrate how to implement exercises geared towards taking responsibility for ones’ own life energy.
· Integrate Dr. Levine’s specialized containment and engagement exercises into daily life
Complete the week feeling grounded, centered, and equipped with various soothing techniques to aid with self-regulation.
Note Please prepare a note pad, pen, large paper (newsprint pad), and “crayons.”
