2021 SEP Highlight: Dr. Femi Akinnagbe

Dr. Levine is delighted to announce our 2021 SEP Highlight, the extraordinary, Dr. Femi Akinnagbe.

Dr. Femi Akinnagbe is currently a resident at UCLA-Harbor Family medicine. He chose this program because they see medicine as a tool of empowerment and constantly seek ways to promote justice and equity in the community. He completed his MSc. in Physiology, Biophysics, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Georgetown University, and his BS in Elementary Education from Messiah College. Femi is also a nationally certified massage therapist, Shaolin Kung Fu black belt, and former Division 1 athlete. He has been practicing yoga and Buddhist meditation since 2004. An avid practitioner of both traditions, he completed yoga teacher training in 2013 at Your Yoga in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dr. Femi is no stranger to trauma. Born and raised in some of the most resource-poor areas of the greater Washington, DC area, Dr. Femi had first-hand experiences with trauma from an early age. 2020 SEP Highlight: Euphrasia Nyaki (Efu)

Dr. Levine is delighted to announce our 2020 SEP Highlight, Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner, Sister Euphrasia Nyaki, warmly known as Efu.

Efu was selected because of her unique and inspiring life story, her dedication to healing, and her powerful spirit that captivates the heart. We are pleased to share her story with you.

Sister Efu grew up in the village of Nganjoni - Marangu, in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.
