Presented by Diane Poole Heller

Why is it so important for both therapists and their clients to understand and heal from trauma?

According to the National Council for Behavioral Health, 70% of adults in the US have experienced some type of traumatic event at least once in their lives

That’s roughly 223.4 million people (in the US alone).

And what’s worse, up to 20% of people go on to develop PTSD, which means that an estimated 5% of Americans — more than 13 million people — have PTSD at any given time. This can lead to unjust life challenges for many and even suicide for some.

Right now, given the collective trauma we’re experiencing as a result of the pandemic, too many of us are feeling out of control, vulnerable, and overwhelmed...struggling with stress and anxiety, unsure how to navigate emotions and relationships.

Trauma has touched all our lives over the past six months.

And while shared or collective experiences might trigger trauma — trauma affects everyone differently, and with varying symptoms and levels of severity. There is no “right” or “wrong” way to think, feel or respond.

Similarly, recovering from trauma takes time, and everyone heals at their own pace. If you’d benefit from the latest practical approaches, interventions and skills to help yourself or your clients recover and heal from the effects of trauma, I’d like to extend a special invitation to the 2020 Trauma & Attachment Summit — hosted by my friend and colleague, Dr. Diane Poole Heller.

This virtual Summit is a FREE, 8-day online event called Designed to Heal: Strategies from Expert Voices to Treat Trauma that takes place from September 30 to October 7, 2020, featuring leading trauma experts, such as Dr. Rick Hanson, Dr. Stan Tatkin, Nancy De Santis & Rick Iannucci, Master Mingtong Gu, Lisa Ferentz, Deany Laliotis, Dr. Dick Schwartz along with Peter A Levine, PhD. Dr Levine is excited to be speaking on October 7th about Body as a Healer: Engaging our Inherent Wisdom.

See the full agenda and save your free seat to this once-a-year virtual event!

Together, Dr Heller and her guests will explore a variety of interdisciplinary approaches to healing trauma — as well as offer practical tips and strategies, insights, and resources that you can implement with clients, as well as strengthen your own healing and emerge stronger than before.

As a way of saying THANK YOU just for signing up, Dr. Heller is also offering two free BONUS gifts when you register:

  • The Symptoms of Trauma Checklist — a clinical tool to help you quickly identify common reactions and symptoms of trauma, either for yourself or when working with clients.

  • The Resilience Checklist — an empowering inventory that reflects progress because it emphasizes qualities of health that reinforce positive self-esteem.

Sincerely,

Dr Levine and the Ergos Institute
